BoardCesare Cajigas | Junior Directors
USA Tile & Marble
The eldest son of Aleida and Ricardo Cajigas, César was practically educated on Calle Ocho, having attended St. Agatha’s Elementary and Belén Preparatory School, and graduating from Florida Inter-national University with honors and two B.A.s: a double major in Finance and International Business and another in Accounting. César was a member of the Honors College, president of the Financial Management Association, and president and founder of the Students League Against Cancer.
“One of the most significant privileges in my life has been to help establish an extension of La Liga Contra El Cáncer with my contemporaries,” he says. “And creating a fundraising event called ‘Arroz con mango’, which has raised over half a million dollars in the past decade.”
During his senior summer in college, he interned with Morgan Stanley in New York under the SEO program and was hired by the firm to work in its Fixed Income/Emerging Markets division. After a year, he returned to South Florida to work with his father at USA Tile & Marble, a stone and ceramics importer with showrooms in Miami, West Palm Beach, and Cape Coral. For the past four years, César has been a vital member of the company’s management group, and has specialized in stone purchasing and institutional accounts.
César Cajigas married wife Olivia just over a year ago and devotes his free time to renovating the home they purchased recently.
“I joined LBA because I greatly respect the people who comprise it, especially Lorenzo Luaces (a founding member and past-president). It was a privilege to grow up watching him and others get involved in the community.”
Cajigas’ personal vision for the LBA is directly related to his charity work with La Liga Contra El Cáncer. “It’s a partnership that would dramatically benefit the lives of many people in our community.”
