Roland Pereira, age 29, is president and co-founder of Eagle Carriers of South Florida, LLC, a local supplier of rock, sand and gravel. He began his career working at a reputable rock quarry selling and executing contracts while managing more than 120 dump trucks a day. His ability to negotiate competitive rates and establish vendor relationships resulted in increased productivity and revenue for the company in a very short time. 
 
He quickly embraced the opportunity to exercise his entrepreneurial skills by venturing out on his own. With the support of other capitalists, in 2002 Roland opened Eagle Carriers of South Florida, currently one of the largest suppliers of rock, sand and gravel in South Florida. At the outset, the company managed 12 trucks in the first month and multiplied significantly to 90 trucks at year’s end, yielding a huge success for Eagle.  
 
Averaging 7 million in gross revenue per year, Eagle Carriers has become an industry leader. It recently expanded its services to accommodate its customers’ growing needs. Services include land clearing, demolition hauling, equipment rental, and excavation contracting in Miami-Dade, Monroe, and Broward counties.
 
As a highly regarded corporation within the construction industry, Roland believes it important to collaborate with and become an active member of the Latin Builders Association. Consequently, he joined in April 2004 and proceeded to become a junior director in June 2007. In this capacity he has expanded his knowledge on relevant businesses, their practices, and the legislation influencing them. Furthermore, he has made treasured friends, and established unique long term relationships within the organization. He sees the LBA as an invaluable tool in training and development, and a means to making a difference in what is a highly competitive industry in today’s economy.
 
In his spare time, Roland enjoys fishing, boating, playing golf, and cooking for his family. He also loves to travel and take vacations in tropical destinations.
