President Carlos C. Del Amo is the founder of The Law Offices of Carlos del Amo, P.A. Del Amo is a Cuban born naturalized United States citizen. From the age of eighteen to his entry into law school, del Amo was a businessman with such diversified pursuits as a shoe and handbag manufacturer and importer, a nationwide wholesaler, a cold storage manager, a meat broker, a cash and carry store owner, a real estate broker, and a mortgage broker. Del Amo graduated from Florida International University in 1976 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. He began a Masters program in psychology at Barry College but had to leave the program before completion to support his family. In 1985, at the age of thirty-two, del Amo returned to school, this time to earn his J.D. from the University of Miami in January, 1988. He became an attorney in September of that same year. Del Amo's law career began with the law firm of High Stack Lazenby and Palahach. For the next seven years, Carlos was a litigator for the firm, first as an associate and later as a partner. In 1992, del Amo formed Carlos del Amo, P.A. Del Amo & Carlos del Amo, P.A. are "AV" rated by Martindale-Hubbell for very high legal ability and ethical standards. Carlos del Amo, P.A. was voted law firm of the year by the Latin Builder’s Association in 2007. Del Amo is a member of the Florida Bar, the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Middle District of Florida and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit. His firm practices in both Federal and State Courts throughout Florida. In addition, del Amo has held leadership positions in several voluntary bar associations such as the first Cuban-American president of the Coral Gables Bar Association in its 50th anniversary year and director of the Dade County Bar Association. He is also an active member of The American Bar Association, The Florida Justice Association, The American Association for Justice, The Miami-Dade Justice Association, The Palm Beach Justice Association, The Hispanic National Bar Association, The Cuban American Bar Association, The American Immigration Lawyers Association and The Million Dollar Advocates Forum. He is a director of the Latin Builder’s Association and a director of Alfalit International. Del Amo has 20 years experience as a litigating attorney and 37 years as a businessman and entrepreneur. His firm concentrates its practice in several areas which include plaintiff’s personal injury lawsuits, from complicated product liability and medical malpractice cases to automobile accidents; litigation involving contracts and commercial transactions; personal injury protection claims by individuals and medical providers; divorces, adoptions domestic violence injunctions, pre and post nuptial agreements and other family law related matters; real estate closings, transactions and litigation; first party insurance and hurricane claims; deportations, asylums, immigrant and non-immigrant visas and other immigration matters and general business transactions. |
