Legislative Committee ChairDaniel Diaz Leyva relies on his professional experiences as an attorney and his extensive network of close personal relationships with decision makers in the community to be an effective advocate for clients in South Florida. Danny graduated from the University of Miami with Honors with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and St. Thomas University School of Law with a Juris Doctorate. Admitted to practice law in Florida in 2004, Danny has a broad range of general transactional experience with a primary focus in the areas of real estate and business. In addition, Danny counsels clients with business matters before municipal, county, and state governments. Danny is actively engaged in the South Florida community serving on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the CHARLEE Homes for Children, a private foster care agency with over 200 employees caring for approximately 1,000 children in Miami-Dade County, and Spectrum Programs, Inc., a comprehensive behavioral healthcare and rehabilitation program servicing over 800 adults and adolescents daily at various South Florida locations in the areas of substance abuse and mental health. Danny is also actively involved in the Cuban American Bar Association serving on its Legislative and Young Lawyer’s Steering Committees. He is a Junior Member of the Board of Directors of the Latin Builders Association, an advocacy group that encompasses a vast array of individuals and companies related to the South Florida construction industry. Danny was recently appointed to serve on the Board of Directors of CAMACOL, the Latin American Chamber of Commerce of the United States, which represents the entrepreneurial spirit of Florida’s Hispanic and minority communities, and as such, conducts programs to strengthen local business activity, promote economic development, facilitate international commerce, and serve the civic needs of the community and state. Danny is a graduate of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce’s leadership development program - Leadership Miami. Danny is currently chairing a campaign for a first time candidate to the Florida House of Representatives that is leading all other State House candidates in fundraising including incumbents. |
