BoardAlvaro Adrian | Honorary DirectorsAt the age of nineteen, Alvaro L. Adrian decided to leave college and start working full time in his father’s company. He started with the basics – processing plans for permit. He soon learned the ins and outs of Miami-Dade County getting plans approved for permit in order to start construction. He was also in charge of coordinating walk through inspections and customer service, thereby familiarizing himself with the needs and demands of the consumers/buyers. Once he mastered these tasks, Mr. Adrian Sr. made him Vice President of Adrian Investment Corporation and put him in charge of coordinating and signing the closings. From closings he moved on to negotiating bids, estimating construction costs and making the final decision of who would be contracted to build for Adrian Investment. He was also responsible for negotiating construction loans with the banks. To test his experience and expertise, Mr. Adrian Sr. put Alvaro in charge of his first project, a subdivision called Friends Wood which consisted of 114 single family homes. In 1988 Alvaro L. Adrian incorporated his first company, Adrian Homes Corp. During the following 10 years he built numerous residential communities both single family and multifamily (townhouses and condominiums) totaling over 850 homes. These include Lago Mar, Bird Villas, Sunset Villas, Killian Gardens, Coral Bird I and II, Woodlands, Eagle Cove, Hawknest and Vista Al Lago. During that time Alvaro Adrian continued to negotiate several land deals, many of which he purchased, developed the infrastructure and sold to fellow developers. In 2000, Mr. Alvaro L. Adrian decided to build income producing properties and created Adrian Builders. He started with warehouses in the Jai-Alai area followed by the Coral Way Professional Center, a four building executive office complex. Given their success, he proceeded with Adrian Builders at Tamiami Airport, Ltd. comprising eight warehouses and two office buildings, the Seastone Shopping Center, Coral West Plaza V Professional Office Building and the Bird Road Professional Office building. He will soon be breaking ground on Adrian Builders at Tamiami Airport II and Adrian Builders at Tamiami Airport III which both consist of warehouses and office buildings for lease. While involved in these commercial ventures, Mr. Adrian still found time to undertake the purchase of 190 acres of residential property, sell part of it and develop the remaining 86 acres into Tree Island Estates consisting of 96 Town homes and 178 Single Family Homes. He is also in the process of completing Fava Estates consisting of luxury single family homes starting at $950,000. Adrian Builders has expanded to Lee County with new condominium projects in the Ft. Myers and Estero areas totaling 700 multifamily units scheduled to begin in summer 2005. Since 1987 Mr. Adrian has served on the Latin Builders’ Association’s Board of Directors. He has served on the executive committee as Assistant Treasurer and on numerous sub-committees dealing with the Miami-Dade County Building and Zoning Department. He is one of the original organizers for the LBA Annual Golf Tournament. He is also a member of the BASF since 2001. Alvaro L. Adrian and his wife, Vivian Adrian, reside on Palm Island with their two sons Alvaro and Michael and their daughter, Sophia. Vivian is a member of the Guardian Angels (Jackson Memorial) and they are both involved in charity events with the Carrolton School. Alvaro is an avid golfer and his interests include fishing and hunting. |
